Our eye doctors take the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing, and treating potential vision problems.

In Memory of Dr. Douglas Huff
Dr. Huff loved the profession of optometry, but he loved his patients even more. He found his calling as a young teenager when he received his first pair of contact lenses. It truly was a life altering event that shaped the rest of his life.
Doug attended Lindbergh High school where he ran cross country, and after high school he remained in St. Louis where he continued his undergraduate work at Washington University. Dr. Huff chose to study at Southern California College of Optometry where he earned the title of Valedictorian of his graduating class. In 1989 he opened his own practice in Central St. Louis County. He was elected to the Board of the St. Louis Optometric Society for a 5 year rotation, serving as President in 1991-1992. He then served in an advisory position as Past President several times. He also chaired the Contact Lens Committee for many years. From 1997-2004, he served as a Director for the Heart of America Contact Lens Society in the capacity of Secretary/Treasurer of this prestigious organization. In 1999 he was chosen by the St. Louis Optometric Society as the Optometrist of the Year and was awarded the Life Time Achievement Award in 2012.
In addition, Dr. Huff participated in five vision mission trips to Romania and Brazil. Being the only Optometrist in the group, he looked at a lot of eyes and helped in distributing over 3000 pair of glasses to those in need, truly elevating their quality of life. The ultimate goal of Dr. Huff was to provide each patient with the best possible care in a friendly, personal and professional manner; while at the same time trying to find the best solution for the individual patient’s needs.
Doug found his greatest comfort and joy with his family; wife Paula and daughters Kayci, and Kelly, son-in-law Klaus and of course grandson Kai.
He especially loved watching his daughters compete in sports and was very proud of their drive, determination and success. He instilled in them an incredible work ethic and a desire to help others. He loved the water, all water sports, golfing with his buddies and playing card games.
Doug showed all of us what it meant to be a great doctor and more importantly what it takes to be a wonderful human being. We know that not only was he part of our family, but that he became part of many of your families over the years.
He will remain in our hearts and minds always!
