Dr. Doug Huff was a beloved optometrist whose passion for his profession was only surpassed by his love for his patients. His journey in optometry began as a teenager when he received his first pair of contact lenses.
In 1989, Dr. Huff opened his own practice in Central St. Louis County. Throughout his career, he served as President of the St. Louis Optometric Society, chaired the Contact Lens Committee, and held the position of Secretary/Treasurer for the Heart of America Contact Lens Society. His dedication earned him the Optometrist of the Year award in 1999 and a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012.
Dr. Huff’s commitment to improving lives extended beyond his practice. He participated in vision mission trips to Romania and Brazil, helping distribute over 3,000 pairs of glasses to those in need. His goal was always to provide the best possible care in a friendly, personal, and professional manner.
Beyond his professional achievements, Doug cherished his family: his wife Paula, daughters Kayci and Kelly, son-in-law Klaus, and grandson Kai. He loved water sports, golfing, and card games, finding joy in both his work and personal life.
Dr. Huff’s legacy as a compassionate eye doctor and a wonderful human being will forever remain in our hearts and minds. He was not just a part of our practice but a cherished member of many families in our community.
